Even if I am to be poured out as a drink
offering upon the sacrificial offering of your faith,
I am glad and rejoice with you all.

Background

The seeds of Missionary Support Services started in the late fall of 2007 as a plea from a missionary couple in need of a better way to receive and track donations coming through multiple sources (sending organizations, churches, and directly).  They were changing churches and needed a safe harbor for their financial partners to send donations.  They also had a need to receive donations for purposes outside of their sending organization’s primary focus.  Their primary focus was linguistics and bible translation, but their ministry had naturally grown into discipleship and caring for other needs of the group they serve (medical, education and building projects, to name a few).

From this request, came a call to prayer.  The founders of MSS began to pray and research organizations that might be able to meet this couple’s needs.  After four months of prayer, and extensive research, it was clear there was a void.  Existing organizations either served a specific group of missionaries, had a narrow purpose, or were affiliated with a specific church or denomination.

MSS was incorporated in August 2008 to fill this void and gained 501(c)3 status in January 2010.

Next Steps

The Lord has given us a big vision for MSS, but we've been faithful to follow the immediate steps He's laid before us.  This year, we'll continue to build our infrastructure and service offering, through the use of technology, to provide accurate, reliable, and timely service to our missionaries.  We sense a calling to build new relationships with church partners, missionary organizations, seminaries and service vendors who can help us as we expand.
